Prices, Payment and Shipping Information For 2008

Plants are still $6.00 each and leaf packs are $2.25 per pack of 2 leaves (we ship 2 leaves of each variety unless stock is limited). PLEASE LIST SEVERAL SUBSTITUTES. If you don't list subs, WE WILL SELECT THEM FOR YOU. See Order Form for more details and the shipping rate chart below for shipping information.

We accept PERSONAL CHECKS, MONEY ORDERS, and VISA/MC/Amex. We also accept PayPal by funds transfer out of your PayPal account balance. WE DO NOT ACCEPT VISA/MC THROUGH PAYPAL. If you pay by credit card we won't charge it until the day we ship (please make sure the expiration date is well into 2008). To verify charges I need your home STREET ADDRESS even if you are having the order shipped to a PO Box or a work address. If you pay by check, I'll cash the check right away and mark your order paid. That will make it easier for you to balance your check book before we ship (and I have been known to lose a check or two in storage over the winter!).

We ship from May to November, depending on temperature. Shipping is processed in the order that we receive them. Please keep in mind that we can't ship the orders received in April and May until we pack and ship the backlog that has come in earlier in the year (and even November and December of last year). We ship all violets by Priority Mail. Orders west of the Mississippi, I ship on Mondays and Tuesdays and Saturdays. Some orders to neighboring states to PA, I'll ship on Wednesday. Supplies I can ship most anytime - generally by Parcel Post. Your patience and understanding is much appreciated.

Shipping Rates for 2008

The price under each zone below is the basic packing and shipping rate for 1- 10 violets or 1 - 15 leaf packs per box. We have no minimum order for plants or leaves, but these minimum shipping rates apply. For each plant over 10 per box, please add 50 cents per plant. For each leaf pack over 15 per box please add 10 cents per pack.

We usually pack 16 standard violets in one box. So please calculate your order in increments of 16.

Hopefully 2 examples will make this easy to understand.

An order of 14 violets (1 box) to Beverly Hills, CA, 90210 would break down as follows:
Zone 3 - $14.75; +(14-10) =4 violets @ 50¢ each = $2.00 for a Total Shipping Charge of $16.75

An order of 22 violets (2 boxes) to Boston, MA 02101 would break down as follows:
Zone 1 - $10.75; +(16-10)= 6 violets @ 50 ¢ each = $3.00 for a total of $13.75 for Box 1; + $10.75 for a 2nd box of 6 violets equals a Total Shipping Charge of $24.50 for both boxes.

PLEASE keep in mind these rates INCLUDE the time and labor for packing and wrapping the violets/leaves plus the cost of the packing materials.

Pots and supplies I will generally ship Parcel Post unless I can easily get them in the box with the plants (and if the supplies aren't too heavy). The figures I listed above apply to violets. Growing supplies I will calculate on an individual basis. They will ship less expensively by Parcel Post.
